CEREC (C hairside E conomical R estoration of E sthetic C eramics) is a multi-instrument system that allows dentists to create and implant custom-fit ceramic restorations in a single appointment. The system consists of an infrared digital camera, a computer with 3-D imaging software, and a milling unit with diamond blades for quick, precise and highly detailed construction of restorations.
The CEREC system can produce any permanent, single-tooth ceramic restoration, including crowns, onlays, veneers and fillings. Unlike metals and alloys, ceramic is similar to the natural tooth, so cracking is minimized because it expands and contracts at about the same rate as the tooth during temperature changes while eating. In addition, CEREC offers benefits over traditional restoration construction such as fewer injections, less drilling, less material removed from the damaged tooth, and minimal time commitment.
The process is simple. First, the dentist examines your tooth and determines the proper treatment. After application of anesthesia, the damaged part of the tooth is removed and an optical impression (digital photograph) is taken. The computer converts this data into a three-dimensional virtual image that allows the dentist to design the restoration that’s right for you. Dimensions of the restoration are sent to the milling machine, which shapes a ceramic block to create the restoration in 10-20 minutes. Finally, the restoration is tried for fit in your mouth, polished and bonded to your tooth.

The ZOOM!® chairside whitening system is a safe, effective and fast way to brighten your teeth in a single office visit. The ZOOM!® procedure is much more convenient than wearing trays or strips, making it a great choice for our busy patients.
ZOOM!® is done in the office during one visit of an hour or two. At your appointment we apply a gentle, hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel to your teeth. The gel is then exposed to a high-intensity light. After the treatment, your teeth will be up to 6-10 shades whiter.
Dentist-supervised whitening is one of the safest and most conservative cosmetic dental treatments available. The most common side effect is an increased tooth sensitivity to cold for 1-3 days after treatment.

Unsightly metal fillings can make an otherwise perfect set of teeth look unattractive. Now there are fillings specially designed to match the natural color of the tooth. Directly-bonded, tooth-colored resin fillings can make a tooth look like new, whether they are used for small areas of decay or to replace current fillings.

Porcelain veneers are a fantastic way to repair or enhance the appearance of front teeth. They can be used to whiten teeth, close spaces and create a great smile. Using veneers, we can even perform virtually "instant orthodontics" to straighten crooked teeth and give you the bright smile you always wanted.
- Reduce or Eliminate Spaces Between the Teeth (Diastemas)
- Repair Broken or Chipped Teeth
- Whiten Dark, Yellow, Permanently-Stained or Discolored Teeth
- Correct Misshapen or Crooked Teeth
The Thornton Adjustable Positioner® (TAP) is based on the same principle as
cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR.
The airway must be opened to allow air
to pass through the throat. A constricted
or collapsed airway causes snoring and/or
sleep apnea.
The TAP® holds the lower jaw in a
forward position so that it does not fall
open during the night and cause the
airway to collapse. The TAP® maintains
a clear airway to reduce snoring and
improve breathing.
Sleep apnea can cause:
- Chronic sleepiness
- Strokes
- Heart attacks
- Heartburn
- Morning headaches
- Depression
- High blood pressure
- Impotence
There is a new solution available to
those who snore or have sleep apnea—
the TAP®, an oral appliance similar to
an athletic mouth guard that is worn
while sleeping. Developed with advanced
dental technology, the TAP® reduces
sleep apnea associated health risks without
the need for surgery, medications or other
more cumbersome therapy.

| Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements which help maintain facial structure, reduce stress on the jaw and fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. Fixed bridges are cemented to the existing teeth and do not come out. Removable bridges can be taken out and cleaned at home. |

Crowns are used to strengthen and improve the shape, size or color of teeth. They can support broken or weak teeth or those with large fillings; provide a smooth, strong, attractively contoured surface for stained, misshapen or otherwise abnormal teeth; and aid in the implantation of bridges and other implants.

Injury, disease, congenital defects, joint and sleep disorders, neglect, and years of day-to-day wear can all cause significant damage and require the complete or partial removal of our teeth. Prosthodontics is a subspecialty of dentistry that focuses on the restoration and replacement of missing or damaged teeth and other oral tissues to maintain health, function and aesthetics. Stained, chipped, worn, broken or missing teeth can be restored to their natural appearance so you can continue to enjoy a beautiful smile. Replacements include crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, dental implants, and complete and removable partial dentures.
The healthiest thing to do when you lose a tooth is have it replaced. Otherwise, you risk problems with biting, chewing and speaking, headaches, muscle pain and an unattractive appearance. Fortunately, there are many comfortable, secure, natural-looking types of dental implants for tooth replacement.
Dental implants serve as the base for many tooth-replacement options, including bridges, dentures and individual artificial teeth. Implants are surgically implanted in the jaw to provide a comfortable, secure fit and a natural look.
In the first one or two appointments, the post or anchor is implanted in the jaw. The replacement tooth, bridge or denture is fitted and installed when the bone and gums have healed. Surgery may be performed in an office or hospital with local or general anesthesia.

Endodontics is the diagnosis and treatment of problems with the inside of the teeth, including the soft tissue known as dental pulp. The most common endodontic procedure is the root canal, although endodontists also perform procedures to correct cracked and split teeth, re-treat previous procedures that have not healed properly, and diagnose oral and facial pain.
Root canals are performed to save a tooth when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected due to decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, cracks, chips or other injuries. Other, surgical endodontic procedures are helpful in a number of situations, including the diagnosis of fractures that are too small to appear on x-rays, the cleaning and sealing of calcified teeth, the extraction and replacement of damaged teeth (intentional replantation), and the removal or repair of bone or dental root. The most common of these last procedures is the apicoectomy or removal of the tip of the root.
Good oral hygiene – brushing and flossing daily – and a healthy diet are the best way to prevent plaque build-up in the mouth. But even the most thorough brushing does not always reach the deepest indentations in the back teeth (molars). Dental sealants fill in these depressions, preventing bacterial formation that causes tooth decay and other damage. In a procedure that takes only a few minutes per tooth, the dentist cleans the tooth, applies an acid solution to roughen the surface, and bonds a plastic sealant to the tooth. A special light may be used to speed the hardening process. Sealants can help both adults and children, and may be re-applied every few years.
